Spring is one of my favourite seasons here at the gardens. Everything feels fresh and alive. The flowers start to bloom, the air is crisp but comfortable, and the lighting is absolutely perfect for photos.
If you’re thinking of a daytime wedding with a garden vibe, spring is ideal. The temperature is usually just right, and your guests won’t be battling summer heat. Plus, suppliers are often more available in early spring before peak season kicks in.
Summer: June to August
Summer weddings are full of energy. The long daylight hours mean you can have a ceremony at sunset and still enjoy hours of celebration under the stars. Many Maltese couples love summer weddings because of the festive atmosphere and the opportunity for an open-air reception.

Autumn: September to November

This is a lovely time of year for those who prefer a slightly more relaxed feel. The soft golden tones of autumn pair beautifully with the natural stone and greenery of our venue. And the lighting at this time of year has a warm, romantic glow that photographers love.
Winter: December to February
While winter isn’t the most traditional season for weddings in Malta, it has its own charm. Some couples opt for a winter wedding for sentimental reasons, or because they love the cosy, festive atmosphere. It’s also a great time to plan a smaller, more intimate celebration.
We’ve hosted several winter weddings that felt absolutely magical. Candlelight, soft music, rich florals, and warm food all help create a setting that feels comforting and close. It’s different, but in the best way.
Things to Consider When Choosing Your Date
Here are a few local tips I always share with couples trying to pick the right date:
- Religious holidays and festas can affect availability and guest attendance. It’s worth checking the calendar early.
- Venue and supplier availability can vary depending on the season. Popular dates in May, June, and September book quickly.
- Personal dates with meaning (anniversaries, special numbers, or birthdays) often make a wedding date more memorable.
- School schedules may matter if many of your guests have children.
